History of the Denton Black Chamber of CommerceThe Denton Black Chamber of Commerce was established in 1995 for the expressed purpose of helping with the creation, expansion, and proliferation of African-American owned businesses. The Denton Black Chamber of Commerce serves as a clearing house, referral service, and a small business initiation tool to better equip and inform its members of current business requirements. The Chamber also promotes its members' products and services, and provides networking mixers. The Denton Black Chamber of Commerce works jointly with the Denton Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Denton Chamber of Commerce on economic development and employment issues. While the focus of the organization is on the African-American community, membership is open to all persons irrespective of their race, creed, origin, or political affiliation.
